RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.You can't not compete
in the semi-pro division if you presented
yourself as a profesional salsa competetor before.
2.You need PRE-REGISTER

3.Make sure your routine is 1 min. &
30 seconds MAXIMUM
If your rutine is more then that, you may get disqualified.
4. Be at Stevens NO LATER than
9: 30 pm SHARP with your music, ready to go.
5. Costumes are required.
6. Failure to follow the rules
above will affect your score
or may disqualify you from competing.
7. THE LADIES WITH THE HIGHEST SCORES ARE
THE ONE THAT
WILL PASS TO THE GRAND FINALE.
The Judging Scores/standards Of This Competition:
1. Keep In Mind This Is A Salsa Competition, Therefore, 80% Of The Routine Needs To Be Salsa. Keep Salsa As The Main
Part Of Your Routine.
2. A Trained Dance Background Is A Plus, But Is Not Required To Do Well In This Competition;the
Judges Will Be Mainly Judging Your Salsa Dance Ability Not Your Ability In Jazz, Ballroom, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, Or Any
Other Style Outside Of Salsa, But Remember, It Still Is A Plus.
3. Judges Will Be Looking For: Body Movement (Head,
Shoulders, Hips, And Isolations Of Total Body), Control, Clean/sharp, Stage Presence, Musicality (Relating The Dance To The
Music's Rhythm,melody, And Mood), Flavor ( One's Heart. Mind, And Passion In Each Move), Timing (Staying On The Beat The Whole
Time, Whether It Is On "1" Or "2"), Footwork And Shines.
How The Female
Dancers Will Be Scored:
Choreography (Execution/difficulty) Score 1-5 Points
Styling (Shines/flavor/footwork)
Score 1-5 Points
Technique (Salsa Fundamentals And Others) Score 1-5 Points
Stage Presence (Heart, Joy, Confidence
On The Stage) Score 1-5 Points
Musicality Score 1-5 Points
Timing Score 1-5 Points
Crowd Response Score 1-5
Points
